Centaur

The reason I am so drawn to smaller figurative screen prints is the efficiency they bring to my studio practice. Historically I have worked with large scale oil paintings ranging from three to eight feet. 7x5 inch paper pushes my boundaries as an artist to think of what is possible at such a small scale. It also means that I can go from an idea to a finished product much quicker. I was driving home from a date when I had the idea for a centaur with hands for hooves. Within three days I had this collage finished on Photoshop, and in one more day I had my final print. There’s an excitement to having a new idea and testing it out with a sense of urgency. This screen print is an edition of 1 and hangs in a 10x8 inch frame.
